About Us
Liskeard Silver Band is based in South East Cornwall. Its main aim is to be a community brass band for the local area. A warm and friendly atmosphere awaits anyone wishing to be part of our band

We aim to provide the local community with an understanding and appreciation of brass band music. The band encourages members all ages and abilities to join and enjoy being involved in performing brass band music.

It regularly participates in local parades, carnivals, flora dances and concerts in various environments.

Liskeard Silver Band had for sometime been very much in the background within the brass band world but since the appointment of its Musical Director, Mr Gerard Morgan in 2009 the band has gone from strength to strength. With increasing numbers of players with a commitment to rebuild the band, it has progressed steadily through 2009 with some very pleasing performances and feedback from the public

2010 provided us with the opportunity to continue with our progress including the return to playing concerts at Padstow and the Ship Inn at Par, some of the counties well known traditional brass band venues. Although the contest scene is not at the top of our priorities we made a return to the local contest stage at Bugle.

In 2011, the Silver Band is set to produce a CD, enter the West of England Bandsmans Festival (Bugle contest) again and perform at various engagements through the year. The band is slowly building on the numbers of young players in training and tuition.

We still have some vacancies within our ranks and we always welcome new players.  We  look forward to meeting you if you would like to come and be part of our band.

Pending refurbishment and building works to our own Band room, practices are now being held at the Salvation Army Hall  in Church Street, Liskeard on Mondays and Fridays, 7:30 - 9:30pm.
